I was happy to see Bill C-355: Prohibition of the Export of Horses by Air for Slaughter pass Second Reading today.
The bill will next move on to the Agriculture Committee.
Most private members bills do not make it this far in the legislative process, which is a testament to the power of cross-party support and collaboration to get things done for Canadians.
I look forward to continuing to work together with my colleagues on both sides of the aisle as this important piece of legislation moves through the House with our shared goal of aligning with other countries to ban the export by air of horses for slaughter.
Thank you to everyone who has reached out to me about this bill!
