Today, on behalf of the Honourable Helena Jaczek, Minister responsible for the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario (FedDev Ontario), Tim Louis, Member of Parliament for Kitchener-Conestoga, announced an investment of $300,000 to enhance the Nith River Pathway in the Township of Wilmot under the Canada Community Revitalization Fund (CCRF).
This support will allow the city of New Hamburg to upgrade the Nith River Pathway, located in the downtown core, between the historic Hartman Bridge and Kirkpatrick Park, which will reinvent outdoor spaces and increase the accessibility of the community space for all.
$200,000 of funding will come from the federal government, $52,000 from the Township of Wilmot, and the Government of Ontario’s Rural Economic Development Fund will contribute $48,000 towards the project costs.
Wilmot Township Mayor, Les Armstrong, and Sandy Jackson, director of Parks, Facilities and Recreation were both in attendance at the announcement.
